The Scottish Style Awards were conceived and developed by MARY McGOWNE of The Vine.

After a successful ten-year career in the fashion industry, Mary McGowne founded The Vine in 2005. Specialising in high profile events, launches, runway shows and public relations campaigns in fashion, music and the arts, the company operates across the UK including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool.

The Vine clients and projects span numerous fashion brands and retailers such as Cruise, Mulberry and Cricket, major music festivals including Rock Ness and Belladrum, prestigious champagne houses including Moët & Chandon and Dom Perignon, plus the major arts festival Drama Na h-Alba.

The Vine staged the inaugural Scottish Style Awards at Tramway, Glasgow, on Friday 30th September 2005. Last year's gala ceremony was held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, Glasgow, on Friday 27th October. The Scottish Style Awards 2007 will take place on the evening of Friday 26th October at the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow.
